We invite you to support – Pune Pedal Power, the largest community cycle rally being held in our city on Sunday, 5th June, 2011- The World Environment Day.
Pune is the cycle capital and was once called “Cycle City” of India. The wonder machine, indeed has pedaled silently in the history, culture & ethos of this great urban center. This proud past has to be discovered and shared so that Puneites engage themselves in a resolution to re-visit the cycle and restore its due place in their respective lives, as a collective norm.
We have set ourselves to this challenging task and expect your active support to the cause. Yes! Pune has the potential to grow into an exemplary, sustainable urban mobility center, in the country. After all, we have a private cycle museum, biggest cycle mall and the longest cycle tracks in the country. We have, amongst ourselves, race, track and long distance champions. A large number of celebrated cyclists happen to reside in Pune. We have a group of determined social activists fighting brave, lone, battle for the rights of pedestrians and cyclists on ‘The contested streets & spaces’.
Thus, we believe that Pune has a strong chance to initiate sustainable urban mobility policies and plans for the rest of India to follow. The fortunate presence of socially aware citizens truly brightens the prospects for Planet Pune. You may , perhaps, like to support this vision and the actions inspired to achieve it.

Breakfast will be served to all participants at The Corinthians Boutique Hotel Rally will be covered by electronic, print media & airwave
Tree plantation by Tree Public of India Blood donation Camp By Lions Club, Deccan Gymkhana A small number of physically challenged cyclists will participate for a short distance.
Military & Para forces will participate with small contingents Schools en route will join the Rally.
A cycle guard of honor will be accorded to Flag-off dignitaries Rally will be video recorded & a film will be released.
Ambulance & Support vehicle will follow the Rally Rally will be lead by the Rally Marshal Many distinguished citizens have consented to join the Pune Pedal Power Rally.
